Beardstown

Beardstown

This was a strange stop. It is a working dock made up of a collection of barges tied to the shore. We pulled alongside and tied up to the outermost barge. The dockworkers ignored us. There was a very steep set of stairs leading up to the office. I was glad to only have to make the trip up to the office once because the stairs were marginally safe.

Definitely a working dock

At about 2am the tug that calls Beardstown home set off to assist a barge coming around the bend. Fortunately that was the only time that we were awakened by the tug.

We had enough of this “interesting” stop, so as soon as it was light we departed for Grafton.
